Benedict Bridgerton is the second Bridgerton child and son. He is the older brother of the Earl of Eastbourne and the Grand Duchess of Hastings.
History
Benedict is the second child born out of the union between Edmund and Violet Bridgerton. As the second to be born, he is considered the spare in case something to the heir. Well, previously that was the case, until he received his own title of Earl. Benedict was reluctant, the idea of being titled not something he wished, so he is still in the process of getting used to it.
His real passions lay in paintings and art, though he sometimes is very insecure about it.
Personality
Benedict is mostly the fun elder brother in the family. While Anthony got the serious and "grown-up" demeanour, Benedict ended up with a older brother figure. Usually he gives advice to his siblings, including Anthony, even though he isn't usually the first they go to for advice.
If he could choose, he'd choose to pass his title to Gregory and have the fun of being the spare with no need to worry about heirs and lands. Benedict is opposed to his younger brother Colin that way, not really fitting into the role he was posed to.
He is very outspoken and social, being known and desired because of it. Benedict is still a Bridgerton, so he can be stubborn and thickheaded.

ROMANTIC
Sophie Baek — Lady in Silver
During a Masquerade Ball held by Violet Bridgerton, Sophie Baek snuck into it using a disguise. Benedict thought her intriguing and they conversed for hours. However, she had to leave early and they never met again. From then on, Benedict searches for her without knowing she is currently working under his roof.
Tilley Arnold — Lady Tilley
Benedict's fiancée. They actually seemed like the arrenged marriage where they get along. Benedict is usually seen happy and content with Tilley, leading the entire Ton to actually believe they're a couple in love. Benedict, while thinking Tilley is pretty and definetely a nice company, doesn't feel the same spark for her that he feels for the Lady in Silver.
Benedict's older brother and closest sibling. Anthony is stubborn and thickheaded, even when he is just trying to help. Even so, Benedict tends to understand his reasons and usually takes his side in discussions and arguments. Anthony was also great help when he received his title and they have always been close to each other.
Colin Bridgerton — Earl of Eastbourne
Benedict's younger brother. Benedict sees Colin as his baby brother, just like Gregory, due to the big gap between their ages. They usually give each other support and advice when they need, and since the gaining of their titles, they have been closer in that regard.
Daphne Basset — Grand Duchess of Hastings
Benedict's younger sister. They have the classic sibling dynamic, mostly with Daphne coming to him when she needs extra help. Daphne was also one of the first ones to support his entertainments of art persues.
Eloise Bridgerton — Dame Eloise
Benedict's younger sister. She is the one he's closest to, because often both of them feel like outsiders. Eloise with her lack of wish of marriage, and Benedict with his hidden desires he isn't even allowed to work on. They have a close relationship, with Benedict being the only one who knows about how Eloise is a smoker, for example.
FRIENDSHIPS
Simon Basset — Grand Duke of Hastings
Benedict's brother-in-law through Daphne. At the beginning, Simon didn't take Benedict seriously due to his jokester and unserious nature. However, currently he sees him more as a younger brother, just like Anthony does. Simon is not exactly close to Benedict since their interests collide so much, but they still consider each other friends.
Henry Granville
Benedict's friend and ex-lover. After catching Henry and Lord Whetherby in the act, he discovers Henry's true sexuality, and ends up discovering his own in the proccess. They became lovers, but when it was announced Benedict's new title and fiancée, they stopped their relationship. Nowadays they keep it on friendly terms.
