Sophie Baek is a servant in Clyvedon Estate. She is also the bastard daughter of a Lord, and she has a secret identity as the Lady in Silver.
History
Sophie is the only child of Louisa Maria Baek, a former maid for the Gun household. Her father is none other than Richard Gun, Lord of Penwood. Sophie was taken as maid to his household after the death of her mother, and although everyone, even her step-mother, knew she was a bastard, she still didn't have any regalies that were given to her step-sisters.
After her father's death, Sophie's step-mother became even more ruthless and abusive, so she decided to run away, finding a job in the Bridgerton-Basset household. During the 1814 season, the Bridgertons are throwing a Masquerade to finish the season, and Sophie sneaks into it as Lady in Silver, to experience what the world of the Highest Tonne is like.
Personality
Sophie is kind and reserved. Along with Penelope and Genevieve, they form the only maids who can both write and read from the household. Also differently from Penelope, Sophie thrives to pass unnoticed and invisible, fullfiling her goal opposite of her friend.
However, she is stubborn and doesn't bend on her values for anything... Or anyone.

During a Masquerade Ball held by Violet Bridgerton, Sophie Baek snuck into it using a disguise. Benedict thought her intriguing and they conversed for hours. However, she had to leave early and they never met again. From then on, Benedict searches for her without knowing she is currently working under his roof.

Sophie's father. They weren't close, and barely spoke to each other, but she was said that Richard does consider her his daughter even if she was invisible at home.
Louisa Maria Baek
Sophie's late mother. She was the one who raised Sophie all alone, until her seventh year where her mtoher got sick and died, her last desperate action being leaving Sophie at the Penwood Estate so her father would take care of her.

Sophie's close friend recently welcomed in the Clyvedon Estate. She is also very secretive and reclusive, just like Sophie, and that's why they get along so well. The difference is that Sophie is even more down-to-earth than Penelope. Penelope also has many secrets of her own, such as her own secret identity.
Genevieve Delacroix — The Modiste
Sophie's closest friend since she arrived at Clyvedon Estate. She also portrays a secret of her own, just like her two friends. Genevieve has beeen living there for longer than the others, staying for longer instead of going back to France, as she should have done years ago. Penelope doesn't know the reason why she wants to stay. No one does.
